Cookie Policy
This page explains what this website stores on your device and what it does not. The short answer is that it stores nothing, which is why there is no cookie banner and no preference panel.
What this site stores on your device
- Cookies: none. No page of this website sets a cookie of its own, and no third-party service on the site is able to set one.
- Local storage and similar: none. The pages do not write to localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB or similar browser storage.
- Analytics and advertising: none. There is no analytics tool, no advertising network, no remarketing tag and no social-media widget.
- Fonts, maps and videos from other servers: none. The scripts and styling used by the pages are served from this site itself.
Why there is no consent banner
A consent banner is only needed when a site wants to place something non-essential on your device. This site does not, so it has nothing to ask about and shows no banner. An earlier version of the page template contained a consent dialog with advertising and analytics switches; it controlled nothing, and it was removed so that this policy describes the site as it really works.
What your browser does by itself
- Browsers keep a temporary cache of pages, images and scripts so that a repeat visit is faster. That cache is managed by your browser, not by this site, and you can clear it at any time in the browser settings.
- The web server that delivers these pages may keep ordinary technical access logs (for example the time of a request, the page requested and the IP address). Such logs belong to the hosting service and are not used here to build profiles of visitors. The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled more generally.
Links to other websites
Where a page links to an official site such as the e-Gov law database or the Consumer Affairs Agency, that site has its own cookie practice, which you can read on that site. Following such a link leaves this website.
How Japanese law looks at cookies
Japan has no stand-alone cookie-consent statute comparable to the EU's ePrivacy rules. The Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) comes into play when a cookie identifier is combined with other data so that a person can be identified, and since the 2022 revision a provider that hands such person-related information to a recipient who can link it to an individual has to check that the person has agreed. Because this website collects no identifiers and passes nothing on, none of that is triggered here. This paragraph is a general explanation, not legal advice.
Things that can look like tracking but are not
- Form autofill: if your browser offers to fill in your name or email on the contact form, that comes from your browser's own saved entries. This website neither reads nor stores them.
- Fingerprinting: no script on the site measures your screen, fonts, installed plug-ins or other device traits in order to recognise you later.
- Link addresses: the contact form passes what you type to the next page as part of an ordinary web request. It is not saved in a cookie, but browsers may keep visited addresses in their history, so do not enter anything you would not want kept on a shared computer.
Third parties on this site
- No advertising company, analytics provider, social network or tag manager is connected to any page.
- No page embeds a map, video, chat window or comment box from another service.
- The contact details on the pages are plain links (mail and phone), which open your own mail or phone application and do not load anything from another server.
If this changes
If an analytics or advertising service is ever added, this page will be updated before it goes live, and a consent choice will be offered first so that nothing non-essential is stored until you agree.
How to check for yourself
- Open the developer tools of your browser, go to the storage or application panel and look at the cookie and local-storage lists for this domain. They should be empty after browsing the site.
- You can also set your browser to block cookies altogether; the site works the same way, because it does not use them.
